Lewis Hamilton brutally trolled Sergio Perez after Max Verstappen’s question
Lewis Hamilton has made revealing comments to Sergio Perez about Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton brutally trolled Sergio Perez when both drivers were asked if Max Verstappen had just accepted a reprimand for his embarrassing incidents at the Singapore Grand Prix. The current leader of the F1 drivers’ championship has seen his run of 10 consecutive wins come to an end, but he appears to have been relegated slightly after being summoned to administration for three violations.
Before the Japanese GP, some of Verstappen’s rivals were asked to comment on the fact that the Red Bull star had only received a reprimand while the drivers had received harsher penalties. After qualifying 11th under the floodlights of Marina Bay, Verstappen was summoned by management to discuss three separate alleged obstruction incidents – one in the pit lane and two on track. He received two official reprimands – the first for delaying his exit from the end of the pit lane in Q1 and the other for blocking AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda in Q2 – and Red Bull were also fined £4 for this latest incident.
But earlier in the season, the penalty for such breaches was a three-step penalty, something that will no doubt concern Verstappen’s fellow drivers as they reflect on the weekend in Singapore.
As expected, Verstappen’s teammate Perez “had nothing to say” causing Hamilton sitting next to him to laugh and joke:
“Are you sure? You always have an opinion about everything!
“Not this one, I’ll pass it on to you,” Perez said in response to probing questions from the Mercedes star, who then asked:
“Are you allowed to park at the end of the pit lane at the exit?”, Perez replied:
“I wouldn’t wait that long, but it’s something we might be allowed to do in the future.
