The incidents all took place in Q1 at Lusail during the Qatar Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton is one of four Formula 1 drivers who will be investigated by management after qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix.
Hamilton, Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson and Oscar Piastri were all cited for failing to follow race director Niels Wittich’s instructions regarding minimum lap times between the two safety car lines.
Set to 1:
46.0, drivers should not go slower than this to avoid potentially dangerous traffic jams, especially in Q1 when all 20 cars are on the right road. However, there are exceptions when drivers drive slower than the prescribed time if they avoid obstructing other drivers, such as the cases of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc at Monza.
Hamilton, Tsunoda and Piastri all qualified for Q2 at Lusail, while Lawson was eliminated in Q1.
