PlayersTrent Brown was listed again on Friday’s injury report.
The Patriots’ injury bug doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. New England has 10 players questionable for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Trent Brown returned to the injury report on Friday with a pectoral injury. He is one of three offensive linemen listed in the report; Riley Reiff (knee) and Cole Strange (knee) are also on the list. The only other offensive lineman currently injured is running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who participated in practice this week on a limited basis due to a hamstring injury.
All four were questionable on Sunday.
Defensively, the depth chart has even more uncertainty. Christian Gonzalez and Matthew Judon are both absent. Gonzalez will likely miss the rest of the season. Judon will be out for a long time but hopes to return this year.
Six other defenders were labeled “questionable” on Sunday, including three defensive backs. Jonathan Jones is still recovering from an ankle injury and only had limited participation in all three days of training. Shaun Wade (shoulder) and Cody Davis (knee) were also limited participants.
Elsewhere on defense, Davon Godchaux (ankle) and Christian Barmore (knee) remain on the injury list. Defensive lineman Trey Flowers is also dealing with a foot injury.
Ty Montgomery was taken off the injury report Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday due to illness.
New England’s defense is still not at 100% this season, especially in the secondary. Dealing with J.C. Jackson helps mitigate the loss, but the Patriots will still be missing at least three of their cornerbacks against a Saints offense that features Chris Olave and Michael Thomas.
New Orleans’ injury report is less serious than New England’s, although quarterback Derek Carr is still listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury.
