CHARLOTTE,N.C. – Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Islands turned himself into the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina on Friday after a felonious process was issued for him this week in relation to a domestic violence case, according to authorities.
Islands, 25, is indicted of violating a domestic violence protection order stemming from a domestic violence conviction in November 2022. He contended no contest to one felony county of injuring a child’s parent in exchange for three times of exploration, including 52 weeks of domestic violence comforting, 52 weeks of parenthood classes, and 100 hours of community service.
The charge against Islands came after he was indicted of assaulting the mama of his two children in front of their children in Los Angeles in June 2022.
Also as part of the Islands ’ plea deal, he must cleave to a 10- time felonious protection order for the woman, isn’t allowed to enjoy any munitions, ordnance or security, and must also share in daily marijuana and anesthetics testing, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The felonious process issued for Islands on Wednesday accuses the NBA stager of throwing billiards balls at the victim’s vehicle onOct. 6 while the children were inside the auto, dropping the vehicle and smashing the windshield in the process, Queen City News reports. The process charged Islands with three offenses – violating a domestic violence defensive order, misdemeanor child abuse, and injury to particular property, according to Mecklenburg District Court.
The Hornets issued a statement saying they’re “ apprehensive of the reports and are in the process of gathering further information, ” a platoon prophet said.
Islands is listed to appear in court at 9a.m. onNov. 13, CBS Sports reports.
A former collegiate name at Michigan State, Islands missed all of last NBA season due to the domestic violence charges against him. In April, the NBA suspended Islands for 30 games, but gave him credit for 20 games served last season, meaning as of now, he’ll miss only the first 10 games of the forthcoming 2023- 24 season.
