Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, tweeted his happiness about Zach Wilson’s recent play and gave an update on his injury recuperation.

On September 11, during the game’s fourth play, Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles tendon injury in Week 1. After being traded from the Green Bay Packers during the off-season, the 39-year-old was making his Jets debut.

The veteran quarterback underwent surgery on his Achilles injury just two days following the game against Buffalo. It was initially projected that Rodgers would be sidelined for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season.

But if the Jets make the playoffs, Rodgers himself has already declared that he intends to play again this year. He has now reiterated his desire to recover from his injury this season.

During his Tuesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers was questioned regarding his injury recovery. The four-time NFL MVP continued to compliment the Jets, highlighting Wilson’s performance at MetLife Stadium, for their 13-10 overtime victory over the New York Giants on Sunday.

Against the Giants, his replacement completed 17 of 36 passes for 240 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. As they prepare to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9, the Jets are currently 4-3.

“I’m really proud of Zach (Wilson) there late in the game with two huge throws and a clock with a second left that gets us in a position (to make a field goal),” he said.

“I’m quite pleased with how we fought. When you’re fighting for play-off spots at the end of the season, it doesn’t matter if the game wasn’t pretty [against the Giants]. That one is included in the column W.

“For sure, the goal is to come back and the goal is to be able to have that conversation,” Rodgers continued when asked if he planned to return this season.
