Christian Horner made feelings clear on Red Bull signing Fernando Alonso – ‘Tear us apart’.

F1 rumors claim that Fernando Alonso is being considered for Red Bull’s Sergio Perez position.

Red Bull has repeatedly refrained from confirming that the 33-year-old will remain with the team through the end of the upcoming season, despite the fact that he is under contract until then. Following Perez’s last-lap collision with Charles Leclerc during the Mexican Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was able to narrow the lead and take second place in the Drivers’ Championship race.

Alonso, meanwhile, is part of a stuttering Aston Martin team who have suffered a drastic decline in performances since the start of the season. Ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, there are speculative murmurs that he could swap places with Perez in 2024.

To create a cohesive, effective team, Horner has stated repeatedly this month that finding the ideal balance between the two drivers is essential.

“If you put two extreme alphas in a team, it’ll tear the team apart,” Verstappen said to Sky Sports in response to Martin Brundle’s question about whether he would ever consider a driver like Alonso or Hamilton to partner with him. It seems that your constant goal is to strike the ideal balance. That’s among the most important things I’ve discovered.”

Verstappen and Alonso are two of the most-thrilling, aggressive drivers in F1, and a partnership in the grid’s standout car would be certain to produce fireworks on track.

Alonso has made no secret of his respect for Verstappen, who has already sewn up his third Drivers’ Championship in a row. “Big congratulations,” said the Aston star earlier this month.

It has been an amazing season, shattering numerous records and achieving numerous victories in difficult races, occasionally involving challenging weather conditions.

Rain fell on Saturdays or Sundays during the races in June and July, which made things difficult at times. It is very respectful when you complete the work on Sundays and you never make a mistake.”
