TIGER WOODS GIVES BIG INJURY UPDATE AND REVEALS HIS NEW TGL TEAM

Before making his comeback to the PGA Tour, Tiger Woods updates us on his ankle and introduces his TGL team.

On the same day that he revealed he will own and play for Jupiter Links Club in the TGL, Tiger Woods gave his fans an update on his ankle injury.

After four days of caddying for his young cub Charlie Woods in the Notah Begay III Invitational, Woods, 47, gave an update on his healing ankle.

That tournament concluded on Monday and Charlie finished 2-over par in T17.
Woods, who had ankle surgery in April, spoke to The Associated Press today to confirm the fusion below his ankle joint is now pain free.

However, the former World No. 1 did not reveal when he would be making his PGA Tour comeback.

Whether Woods can nail it in his yearly Hero World Challenge later this month, and/or in the PNC Championship with Charlie right before Christmas, is still to be seen.

Woods acknowledges that his ankle is fine, but he is still sore, particularly after walking a golf course nonstop for four days.
Woods told AP today:

“My ankle is fine. Where they fused my ankle, I have absolutely zero issue whatsoever. That pain is completely gone. It’s the other areas that have been compensated for. But all the surrounding areas is where I had all my problems and I still do. So you fix one, others have to become more hypermobile to get around it, and it can lead to some issues. I’m pretty sore after caddying for four days. It was a flat course, thank God.”

Woods also confirmed in a statement to the media this afternoon he will act as a co-owner of Jupiter Links Golf Club, which is the sixth and final team to join the TGL.

The tech-infused golf league, which is the brainchild of both Woods and Rory McIlroy and backed by the PGA Tour, will commence on Jan.9, 2024.

Woods now joins David Blitzer, who has stakes in five professional franchises, as the co-owner of Jupiter Links GC.

In a statement, Woods wrote:

Having the opportunity to not only compete but also own a team to represent Jupiter is an exciting next chapter for me. I expect Jupiter Links GC to showcase the golf culture of my hometown as we compete against the best players in the world.”

Here are the six confirmed TGL teams:

Jupiter Links
Boston Common
TGL New York
San Francisco GC
Los Angeles GC
Atlanta Drive GC
Each team will have four players, and all team members will be confirmed soon.
