Phil Mickelson does his best to help players prepare for the second phase of PGA Tour Q-School.
Golf legend Phil Mickelson did the most incredible thing imaginable for an aspiring PGA Tour pro by inviting him to his home and helping him play the game just days before his second stop at Q-School.
According to popular Monday Q Info Twitter account, @acaseofthegolf1, six-time Major champion Mickelson went out of his way to help golfer Mark Baldwin in all areas of his golf game this weekend.
Monday Q Info caught up with Mickelson after finishing his second season in the LIV Golf League two weeks ago to see if he could best help Baldwin prepare for the second leg of the PGA Tour Q- School, starting on Tuesday or not November 14.
Mickelson, 53, not only agreed but went the extra mile to help Baldwin be in the best shape possible heading into the second leg of PGA Tour Q-School.
The 45-time PGA Tour champion not only played a nine-hole match with Baldwin on Saturday afternoon, but also invited him to his home on Sunday morning for extra practice and help before playing an 18-hole match with him on Sunday afternoon.
Baldwin said his weekend with Mickelson was “the greatest experience of my golfing life.
“Without any prior performance-based status) will face the next season without any PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour status.
But this year at Q-School, for the first time since 2012, PGA Tour cards were offered during the final round.
Monday Q Info explains exactly what Mickelson did on Saturday and Sunday via Twitter/X.
“After the first phase of Q-School, I sent a direct message to Phil Mickelson asking him to help Mark Baldwin prepare for the second phase. I didn’t tell Mark because I never thought Phil will answer. I don’t tell Mark instead.” , three hours later Phil agreed, and that weekend Mark had “the best experience of my golfing life.”
“Last night they played a 9-hole match.
Phil invited him over this morning to help play the short game and now they’re playing an 18-hole match. Phil’s awesomeness. One of the best players of our time is helping a guy prepare for phase 2. Truly unreal.”

“I can’t solve Love how hard it’s been not tweeting about this for the past two weeks. I wanted to respect Phil’s privacy, and while the content was obviously great, the goal was to prepare Mark for Q-School so I didn’t want to cause any distractions, and it was Phil’s backyard.”
