REPORT: JON RAHM WILL MOVE TO LIV GOLF “IN THE COMING DAYS” AND GET HIS OWN TEAM

Jon Rahm’s move to LIV Golf is set to happen and he will get his own team too, confirms Flushing It.

LIV Golf is expected to confirm the signing of Jon Rahm from the PGA Tour in a matter of days, according to popular golf social media account Flushing It.

Rahm, 29, is rumored to have met with the executives of LIV Golf in recent weeks to finalize an agreement to enter the Saudi-funded circuit.

Rahm is reportedly going to take a $300 million signing bonus and receive a 25% stake in his own LIV Golf team.
Rahm is expected to sign a five-year deal with LIV Golf taking him through to 2029.

It is estimated the entire contract for Rahm will be worth in the region of $600m.

Flushing It tweeted on December 5:

“Jon Rahm’s move to LIV is expected to be announced in the coming days. There will not be any immediate major changes to the format of the league and Jon will be getting his own team.”
Flushing It revealed last month Rahm was only prepared to join LIV Golf if they changed their format, but that is seemingly no longer the case.

Rahm is understood to be happy with the terms of his deal and is set to be announced as LIV Golf’s biggest signing ahead of its third season that starts in February 2024.

Tiger Woods was pressed on Rahm’s potential move to LIV Golf during the Hero World Challenge, to which he replied:

Hypothetically would it surprise me, yes, but there’s so many different things that have happened in the last, as you said, 48 hours but also in the last few weeks. Things have changed and will continue to change.”
Should Rahm indeed join LIV Golf, which is now expected to be the case, he will be suspended by the PGA Tour along with all other members who have joined the breakaway league.

Rahm began playing professionally in 2016, and he has since participated in the PGA Tour.

On the PGA Tour, he has won eleven times, including two major championships at the US Open and Masters in 2021 and 2023.

Woods and Rory McIlroy’s new TGL, which now begins in 2025, was recently WD from Rahm.
