LIV Golf offers fans chance to play Las Vegas course with stars – for eye-watering price.
LIV Golf heads to Las Vegas for the very first time this week, and in the build-up to their second event of the season, fans have been offered the chance to play alongside the league’s stars.
LIV Golf fans have been given the chance to compete in this week’s Pro-Am event at Las Vegas Country Club, but will need to pay just under £8,000 ($10k) to earn a spot.
This week, the breakaway league is going to Las Vegas for the first time ever as LIV’s second event of the season is being held there. The Nevada city is expected to have an exciting week of sports, including the Super Bowl on Sunday, which will feature the Kansas City Chiefs competing against the San Francisco 49ers.
“Fans who arrive early in Vegas for the sports events will have the opportunity to experience playing alongside top stars in LIV’s Pro-Am, but they will need to pay a significant amount.”
Ticket-wise it is much more affordable for fans wanting to pay general admission, with ground passes for the opening day on Friday starting at a reasonable £37 ($47). Saturday and Sunday sees a slight increase, with tickets costing £40 ($51) for round two and £45 ($57) for round three.
People who are interested in spending money in addition to participating in the Pro-Am have the opportunity to do so during tournament days.
They can enjoy hospitality services that cost at least £1,200 ($1.56k) for one day. Undoubtedly, LIV will aim to take advantage of the successful beginning of their season last week in Mayakoba.
Last Sunday, the focus shifted to LIV Golf as their inaugural event concluded with a thrilling four-hole playoff, taking advantage of the PGA Tour’s suspension during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The Saudi-backed league truly delivered.
It was 36-hole leader Joaquin Niemann who eventually prevailed, as he saw off Sergio Garcia in near darkness to win his first ever LIV Golf event. And with the Super Bowl just six miles down the round from this week’s event, those competing are more than looking forward to the Vegas atmosphere.
Bryson DeChambeau expressed to LIVGolf.com that the upcoming event will be remarkable and filled with excitement.
He anticipates a vibrant atmosphere and a lot of buzz in the city. Additionally, he expects the event to be enjoyable and have an electrifying energy.
This sentiment was echoed by Dustin Johnson, who believes that the event will be fantastic, especially because it coincides with the week of the Super Bowl, leading to a buzzing atmosphere in Las Vegas.
Phil Mickelson expressed his eagerness to demonstrate the essence of the LIV product by stating that LIV Golf Las Vegas provides a platform to highlight the contributions LIV Golf can make in the United States. The target audience in the United States is notably younger compared to traditional golf enthusiasts, and being present in Las Vegas during the Super Bowl week allows them to specifically engage with this desired demographic.
