WATCH: JON RAHM HITS DREADED HOSEL ROCKET IN FINAL ROUND OF LIV GOLF EVENT
Jon Rahm hit a brutal shank during the final round of LIV Golf’s second event of 2024 at Las Vegas Country Club.
Jon Rahm has experienced a few instances where he has hit shanks throughout his professional journey. One of his most remarkable moments happened during the 2023 PGA Championship when he chose to express his frustration by hitting a microphone at Oak Hill upon discovering the hosel.
This one was just as enjoyable.
I’m referring to the shots made with the side of the golf club, which are always entertaining to watch, especially when executed by the top players globally.
Rahm is precisely that.
If not the best player globally, then at least one of them. He currently holds the title of Masters champion and still possesses the ability to perform exceptionally well. This fact instills hope in all of us.
The scene? During the final round of LIV Golf’s second event of 2024 at Las Vegas Country Club.
Rahm was well in the mix going down the stretch and only one back of the leaders at this point.
He was playing his third shot on the par-5 15th and 90 per cent of the time you’d expect Rahm to hit the green.
The 29-year-old had a 5-iron in his hand which made the shot more difficult but still… this was something else.
Rahm immediately recognized it, and Greg Norman, who was present in the commentary booth, also acknowledged it.
The Great White Shark expressed his disappointment as Rahm picked up his club from the ground, referring to it as one of those unfortunate shots beginning with the letter S.
The announcers verified that Rahm’s ball came to rest close to a spectator’s grill, and from that location, he executed an impressive recovery shot.
However, his day could be best described by missing the left-to-right slider for par.
Dustin Johnson went on to win his third LIV title as Rahm slumped to a solo eighth finish.
