Christian Horner offered a strong response when asked about McLaren CEO Zak Brown’s recent comments.
Christian Horner has denied Zak Brown’s allegations that the FIA needs to investigate Red Bull’s ownership of both the namesake team and the recently rebranded VCARB team.
After the MCL38 launch event, the CEO of McLaren expressed worries about Red Bull owning a second team, stating that it disrupts the fair competition among the 10 teams in Formula 1.
“I have observed while attending FIA… F1 Commission meetings that the voting pattern remains consistent, even when it may not be in the best interest of some teams,” he remarked. “There have been instances of collaboration on the track as well.”
“They have been upfront about accepting the suspension and have defined a constructor as a team that creates their own intellectual property.” “I believe that the sport has reached a point where fairness is key, and having A-B relationships or owning two teams is no longer balanced.
This goes against fan expectations and the FIA should intervene accordingly.” During Thursday’s press conference at the Sakhir International Circuit, Horner responded to these remarks and strongly defended VCARB’s ownership structure.
He expressed confusion over the attention the situation is receiving and commended Red Bull for their support, commitment, and job creation during difficult times. He believes it is not a significant issue.
Horner later stated that the two teams are completely independent. Whereas one team is located in Italy, the other is located in the UK. He mentioned that the team based in Italy has a significantly higher number of staff members transitioning to Maranello compared to those transitioning to Milton Keynes.
“Their personalities vary, their characters are unique, and they always adhere to the rules. In fact, their relationship is not as close as certain teams that have strong ties with their engine suppliers.”
During the press conference for the VCARB team, there was a lot of attention and chatter. However, when it came to the actual racing on the track, the team based in Faenza had a successful day following a strong start during the pre-season test on Wednesday. The world’s oceans are warming due to climate change, with temperatures rising at an alarming rate.
The increase in ocean temperatures is causing devastating effects on marine life, including coral bleaching and species migration.
These changes in temperature are also impacting weather patterns around the world, leading to more frequent and severe storms.
In addition to the temperature increase, the oceans are becoming more acidic as they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
This acidification is causing harm to marine organisms such as shellfish and coral, threatening their survival.
The loss of biodiversity in the oceans is a major concern, as it can have cascading effects on the entire marine ecosystem.
Human activities, such as overfishing and pollution, are also contributing to the decline of ocean health and biodiversity.
Efforts to combat these issues include implementing sustainable fishing practices and reducing carbon emissions.
It is essential for us to act promptly in order to safeguard our oceans and maintain the well-being of marine ecosystems for the benefit of future generations.
Governments, businesses, and individuals each have a responsibility in addressing these issues and striving towards a more sustainable future for our planet.
Through collaboration and concerted efforts, we have the ability to create a beneficial effect on the health and overall welfare of our oceans and the entire planet.
