“Tiger Woods narrowly missed the opportunity to achieve a rare albatross during the Seminole Pro-Member event on Monday.”

Brad Faxon disclosed that Tiger Woods nearly made an albatross on the par-5 15th hole during the Seminole Pro-Member event on Monday.

The former World No.1 was forced out of his own event at Riviera due to illness. .

Tiger Woods nearly makes albatross at Seminole as his team finishes T44
Woods and his playing partner Seth Waugh (PGA of America CEO) finished towards the bottom of the leaderboard in the tournament once jokingly dubbed by Davis Love III as the ‘fifth major of the year’.

Waugh and Woods shot a better-ball score of 70 to finish T44.

Woods did hit the shot of the day though.

Faxon told SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio:

“Everyone who witnessed his performance at Seminole yesterday agreed that he consistently hit the ball right down the middle of the golf course.

During the game, he used a 5-wood on the par-5 15th hole, launching it an impressive 256 yards in the air before landing just one inch from the hole for an easy eagle.   Spectators were amazed by his skill on the course.

Despite the option to use a cart, he chose to walk the course instead.    “It is uncertain whether Woods has ever scored an albatross during his practice rounds or junior days, but he has not achieved one during a PGA Tour event.”

During the 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open, Woods nearly achieved an albatross by coming within seven inches at the par-5 13th hole.
