DUSTIN JOHNSON’S LIV GOLF TEAM CONFIRM NEW SIGNING AS ‘SEVEN-FIGURE DEAL’ ON WAY

Dustin Johnson’s LIV Golf team is on the verge of two big deals after former TravisMathew CEO Chris Rosaasen joins as their new GM.

Dustin Johnson’s LIV Golf team has appointed Chris Rosaasen, the former CEO of TravisMathew, as its new general manager under a multi-year contract.

There are already numerous deals being offered to 4Aces GC.    According to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal, Rosaasen has already secured two companies for three-year deals worth “mid seven figures annually”, putting her at the final stage.

According to Carpenter, one of the agreements is characterized as a multinational technology corporation.    Rosaasen is confident that 4Aces GC will be profitable by the year 2025.

The members of the LIV Golf team 4Aces GC are Dustin Johnson (the captain), Harold Varner III, Pat Perez, and Patrick Reed.

Last month, Rosaasen joined 4Aces as the new hire, taking over the position left vacant by sports attorney David Cornwall.

It is understood that Cornwall will continue to work for Johnson in some capacity.    At first, Rosaasen had doubts about teaming up with the 4Aces, but after having multiple conversations with former World No.1 Johnson, he was finally persuaded to join them.

Rosaasen told SBJ’s Carpenter:

At first I laughed at him [Johnson] and said ‘I don’t have time to do that…’, but the opportunity was too good to turn down if this is going to turn out what we think it’s going to be.”

In 2023, Rosaasen’s clothing brand, Extracurricular, signed a clothing agreement with Johnson’s team, showcasing previous collaboration with the 4Aces.

Rosaasen is expected to retain his position as founder and continue to be active in the marketing and branding of Extracurricular.

However, he has appointed a president to oversee the daily operations of the company.

The new general manager of 4Aces will have direct reporting responsibility to the board of the team.

The board is comprised of the general manager himself, Johnson, and three positions occupied by executives from LIV.

Johnson, in his capacity as the leader of 4Aces GC, possesses a share in the franchise, with the remainder of the team being owned by the LIV Golf League.

Carpenter states that Rosaasen anticipates the 4Aces will be profitable in the coming year.    The 4Aces are scheduled to participate in the upcoming LIV Golf Miami event next week.

Johnson and Reed will proceed to participate in The Masters tournament from April 11-14.    Reed and Johnson, both former Masters champions, have the opportunity to participate in the first major of the season at Augusta.

In 2018, Reed put on the green jacket, while Johnson emerged as the winner of The Masters in an unusual November timing due to Covid in 2020.
