Photos: Tiger Woods at 2024 Masters at Augusta National
Tiger Woods returned to the Augusta National Golf Club on Monday morning for a practice round, just one day after his arrival.
Before the 88th Masters Tournament, Woods was seen in a white sweater and black pants, while also wearing a black hat with the new Sun Day Red logo displayed for the first time at Augusta. In February, Woods and TaylorMade introduced this new brand after Woods ended his 27-year partnership with Nike in 2023.
Woods, who is 48 years old, has only participated in one PGA Tour event this year, where he had to withdraw due to illness in the middle of the second round of the Genesis Invitational in February.
This will be his second tournament of the 2024 season.
Early observations from his practice round on Monday were positive.
“He had a strong performance today,” his playing companion Will Zalatoris remarked. “He even outperformed me in a couple of drives, leading to some friendly banter.
Overall, he appears to be in excellent form, moving as smoothly as possible.
Considering all that he has endured, it is truly remarkable to witness the quality of his swings.” Woods is aiming to achieve his 24th consecutive made cut, which would establish a new record for the most all-time.
Currently, he is tied with Fred Couples and Gary Player, both having made 23 cuts.
