LIV Golf announces handful of new executive-level hires, including a Chief Financial Officer

On Wednesday morning LIV Golf announced a handful of new high-level hires as the league continues to add experience and stability at the executive level.

Former Chief Financial Officer of the Equinox Group and Senior Vice President of Finance at Endeavor, David Phillipps, has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of the league.

Phillipps will be reporting to LIV Golf’s CEO and Commissioner, Greg Norman.

Ross Hallett has been brought on board as the Executive Vice President in charge of Events. Katie O’Reilly is another recent hire, appointed as Executive Vice President overseeing Team Business Operations.

Tim Taylor has been selected to lead operations in LIV’s London office and Pam Sacree has been appointed as the Head of Human Resources department.

Norman stated in a press release that they are pleased to enhance their success by bringing on high-caliber executives in various business divisions. The focus of their players, team franchises, and expanding staff is on the league’s future growth, promoting the game, engaging new fans, and creating a global presence in golf.

Hallett previously served as SVP and Head of Golf Events for IMG. O’Reilly joins from the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, where she served as Chief Revenue Officer. Sacree has formerly held human resources roles with the likes of Madison Square Garden, Cablevision Systems Corporation and AIG.

All three will report to Chief Executive Officer Lawrence Burian, who was hired from Madison Square Garden last October in the wake of LIV Golf’s 2023 Team Championship event.

We are pleased to introduce this group of experienced and reputable leaders who are well-equipped to guide LIV Golf forward,” stated Burian. “As LIV Golf grows and evolves, individuals like David, Ross, Katie, Tim, and Pam, with their expertise and dedication, will play a crucial role in our expanding international ventures.

We are excited to have these leaders join us, as they align with LIV Golf’s principles, enthusiasm, and dedication to enhancing our league for the future.”

With uncertainty surrounding the future of professional golf, LIV Golf has made strategic hires to keep up with competition and attract a wider, more youthful international audience, demonstrating confidence in its own potential.
