But ahead of the very next major, McIlroy has confirmed their divorce is now off the cards and that he is happily back with his wife of seven years, Erica.

Rory and Erica share a young daughter, Poppy.

Per The Guardian, ‘court papers served in Florida on Tuesday show the dismissal of the case at the behest of the parties involved’.

It follows an update at the weekend that Erica had ‘missed the deadline’

Rumours had surfaced on social media that McIlroy had been romantically linked with CBS reporter Amanda Balionis ever since news emerged of his decision to file for divorce with Erica on Monday 13 May.

McIlroy not only shut those rumours down in a response to The Guardian on Tuesday night, but he also confirmed he was no longer going through with a divorce.

The Northern Irishman expressed how the couple have now ‘resolved our differences’ and that their ‘best future was as a family together’.

McIlroy told The Guardian

“There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game.

“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
