Bryson DeChambeau pays ultimate LIV Golf price just days after US Open win

Bryson DeChambeau’s Olympic dreams have been dashed after Team USA confirmed the four golfers set to represent the country at the Paris Games this summer, just days after his US Open win.

Bryson DeChambeau’s joy over winning his second major championship was brief due to his dreams of competing for Team USA at the Paris Olympics being officially dashed.

Despite winning at Pinehurst recently, American golfers Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa have been chosen to participate in the tournament at Le Golf National from August 1 to August 4.

The Olympics this summer will only allow a total of 60 players to compete, with each country limited to a maximum of four players ranking in the top 15 of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). Nevertheless, the recently crowned winner of the US Open is currently ranked lower than those four players, along with his fellow American Patrick Cantlay, in the list of the top-ranked United States players.

DeChambeau’s choice to participate in the LIV Golf circuit next year has had an impact on his ranking.

His impressive victory over Rory McIlroy in an exciting US Open championship has resulted in him climbing to the 10th position in the global golf rankings.

Before his success in North Carolina, he was ranked 38th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) – his performances in Saudi Arabia did not contribute to his ranking points.

US Golf has announced the final four players who will be representing the country in Paris during the summer Olympics. The confirmation was made on Twitter, with a post stating, “The FOUR for #ParisOlympics. Scheffler, Schauffele, Clark, Morikawa,” accompanied by a photo of the group.

Prior to this, American golfing star DeChambeau had expressed his desire to compete for the US this summer. Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, he said: “I would love to represent the United States. It was tough for me last time around because of Covid, it was just one of those things that happened.”

I hope that one day the game of golf will be resolved and I will be able to play again. I am currently playing well and feeling excited, but I am also feeling frustrated and disappointed. I accept that there are consequences to the choices I have made. I hope that we can resolve this situation sooner rather than later.

Regarding the four men chosen to represent the United States this summer, Schauffele aims to repeat his victory from Tokyo 2020, where he won a gold medal. In the meantime, Morikawa is getting ready to compete at the Games for the second time in his career.

Scheffler and Clark are preparing to participate in their first Olympics as they travel to France this summer. In 2016, golf was reintroduced to the Olympics, with British player Justin Rose winning the gold medal and eventually becoming the world’s top-ranked player.
