Tiger Woods provides shock surgery update: ‘I look forward to tackling this rehab…’
PGA Tour legend Tiger Woods reveals he underwent yet another back surgery on Friday.
Tiger Woods has confirmed he underwent lower back surgery earlier this morning.
Woods, 48, took to his social media channels to provide the shock update to golf fans.
The former World No.1 underwent microdecompression surgery of the lumbar spine for nerve inpingement in the lower back.
The surgery was performed in West Palm Beach and his doctor ‘deemed it to be successful’.
Tiger Woods underwent successful back surgery on Friday.
“In a social media post, Woods expressed optimism that the surgery was successful and would bring relief to the back spasms and pain he endured during the majority of the 2024 season.
“I am excited to start this rehabilitation process and get myself ready to resume my regular activities, such as playing golf.” Woods has undergone six back surgeries throughout his career, with this latest one being the most recent. Almost 18 months have passed since Woods had ankle surgery, which occurred about two years after his serious car accident in Los Angeles in 2021.
This week, GolfMagic had an exclusive interview with Cáje Moye, the creative designer of Woods’ Sun Day Red.
Moye confirmed that if Woods wins a 16th major title, the Sun Day Red logo will be completely torn apart. However, following the recent surprising announcement about the condition of Woods’ back, it seems unlikely that he will be able to achieve a 16th major title.
However, this individual is Tiger Woods.
The 15-time major champion, after failing to make the cut at The 152nd Open at Royal Troon in July, indicated that he would probably not be participating in competitive golf again until the PNC Championship with his son Charlie Woods in late December.
