Mickelson has not been in good form since clinching the PGA championship at the age of 50 last year after finishing second at The Masters. The American ended in the ninth position in LIV Jeddah in March but has not made the top 30 in the last five tournaments of the season.
That is the final he will be hoping to achieve the last major of his golfing career at the US Open later next month, however, before the LIV Golff Singapore where he addressed media, Mickelson said he is 53 now and his career is ‘coming to an end,’ therefore he wants to quit.
“Now, I want to help others find the same joy and fulfillment that golf has brought me,” Mickelson said.
Mickelson is the first prominent golfer to join LIV Golf in 2022. Mickelson remains confident and optimistic about LIV golf’s development prospects in the coming years whether he decides to retire or not.

I think what I do know is that the quality of the players is going to continue to get better every year. I think the capacity and the locations that we travel to around the world are going to continue to grow.”
