Michael Schumacher’s daughter’s wedding guests had strict rule to follow in ‘his presence’

Reports in Germany said it was “very likely” that Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher attended in person at the wedding of his daughter Gina-Maria in Majorca last weekend.

It has maintained a small circle during the last decade. That has been the wish of Corinna Schumacher, who has been very much vocal about the privacy of her husband ever since the skiing accident that befell him in December 2013 an incident that almost paralyzed him from the neck down the extent of which he rarely breaks today.

However, many of those people were in Majorca to witness the wedding and this included Ralf Schumacher who has not been close to his brother’s side of the family in the last couple of years. And that is even though German media claimed it was ‘highly probable’ that Michael was whisked over to the Spanish island to witness his daughter down the aisle.

But outsiders have not been allowed to know any specific details of Schumacher’s condition, nor have the family allowed photos to be taken of him. And to help enforce those rules at the wedding, all attendees had to follow one key instruction.

Bild reports that everyone who went to the ceremony had to hand in their phones to security at the door. The only photos that were allowed at the wedding would have been from the official photographer, who was no doubt under strict instruction not to take any images of the stricken F1 legend.

Schumacher has been in a coma since December 2013 when he was skiing off-paste in the French resort of Meribel and fell and hit his head. During a swimming expedition he struck his head on a rock and had to be evacuated by helicopter to the hospital where he had surgery and was then put into a drug induced coma to try to reduce some of the swelling on the brain..

However, Schumacher recovered but suffered from serious and disabling brain damage. He was allowed to go back to the family home on Lake Geneva in September 2014 and has stayed there since, under the supervision of his wife and medical staff, very few are even allowed ina room with him.

His believed attendance at his daughter’s wedding is possibly the only time this Corinna haspermitting individuals outside this close-knit clique to see her man for many a- many years. And there may be another such occasion in the offing with their other child, Mick, who might be planning to tie the knot soon.

His long-term girlfriend, model Laila Hasanovic avoiding giving explicit answers, in a post on Instagram, shared a photograph of a ring on her engagement finger. As of this writing, there has been no response; the former Haas F1 driver has yet to say anything publicly since his partner’s message.
