Michael Schumacher’s account posts for first time since ‘appearing at daughter’s wedding’
Formula 1 racing legend Michael Schumacher was badly injured in December 2013 whilst skiing in France, and his condition remains private and undisclosed since then.
Last night there has been posts on Michael Schumacher’s official SNS profile for the first time in five months as the Formula 1 legend has recently been reported for his first time appearance since the accident in 2013.
The unfortunate incident happened when he was on a skiing holiday in the French Rockies and, to date, news on Schumacher ’s condition have been done sparingly. They include his immediate family, but more intimately, his wife, Corinna, who has been fiercely protective of the former Ferrari superstar’s privacy.
But last month German local newspapers wrote that he was “very probable” at the wedding of his daughter Gina-Maria. She only wed the new man, Iain Bethke at the Schumachers’ villa in Majorca.
That would have meant that Schumacher would have been visible to invited guests, including some family members and friends who have been shut out of the inner circle. But to prevent pictures being taken of the stricken F1 star, all guests had to give up their phones upon arrival at the wedding.
And now, for the first time in many months, Schumacher’s official social media channels have become active again. Those handling his accounts sent out a tweet celebrated the race hero’s legendary career.
In a throwback post doused with a lot of nostalgia, the social media account was reminding fans of past achievements – more precisely the first F1 title with Ferrari and the third one in total. It was attained at the 2000 Japanese Grand Prix where the phrase “exploding emotions” was made, the post stated.
Beside was the post that was accompanied by two photos which will be remembered by all F1 fans. There was a picture of Schumacher dancing on the podium and another of his buddy,…his then Ferrari director, Jean Todt and they were playing with champagne.
In an emotional conversation with L’Equipe last December, Todt, who went on the become the president of F1’s governing body the FIA, said of his old friend: I do not miss Michael because he is here of his own accord. Well he is not the Michael or at least not a human being I used to know.” The media seems to have interpreted that Todt is one of the few outsiders from Jackson family who has been privileged to visit Michael during his treatment period.
Further sharing his feelings, Todt disclosed: He is different, and is wonderfully guided by his wife, and children, who shield him. Just the way of life has shifted and I am favored to have a share of moments with him. That’s all there is to say.”
Ralf Schumacher who is also a former F1 cars driver is the brother to Michael Schumacher and he was in attendance at the wedding ceremony. Former footballer Ralf has opined on Sky Germany that Michael’s side of the family “go their own way” and that he “gets happy whenever he sees niece Gina-Maria or nephew Mick.
