The governing body for Formula 1 hailed the involvement of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport with the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games following the German marque’s announcement as the official car partner for both Esports GT and Circuit events.
This partnership will see the iconic Mercedes-AMG GT3 used exclusively in the highly anticipated Esports GT competition, providing a level playing field for the 57 competitors fighting for the gold medal.
Mercedes-AMG Motorsport also announced they would supply the safety car and medical car for all Circuit events, using its renowned Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+, both familiar fixtures in Formula 1.

FIA has been increasing the synergy between traditional motorsport and Esports and Mercedes-AMG’s partnership with the organization is a big step in this direction. The first time all Esports GT competitors will start in the virtual Mercedes-AMG GT3, one of the most successful vehicles in the GT3 racing series with a record of more than 500 racing successes: including the Nurburgring 24-Hour, Bathurst 12-Hour and Spa 24 Hours.
Christoph Sagemuller, Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “We will be glad to contribute to extend this years’ FIA Motorsport Games.”This unique and worldwide event of the FIA – connecting real and sim racing on an international level with drivers from all over the world – is remarkable. Watching the best Esports drivers race against each other all in successful Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be very special.
The FIA also expressed enthusiasm to the event and Stephane Ratel, Founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group credited the importance of Mercedes-AMG’s involvement.“We are glad to officially have Mercedes-AMG Motorsport as our partner in the FIA Motorsport Games.”
“It is excellent that all our Esports GT competitors are racing the same virtual Mercedes-AMG GT3 car in the FIA Motorsport Games,” Ratel said.
With the clock for the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games now ticking, the partnership with Mercedes-AMG Motorsport has created the right platform for the future experience as it wittingly combines Esports flair and traditional motorsports.
