Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc’s cool down room response to Max Verstappen penalties

Lando Norris and Max Verstappen had another go at each other during the Mexico GP until the last Red Bull man was given 20 seconds in penalties for two such incidents.

Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc both remained silent at Max Verstappen’s ‘unfair’ driving in the cool down room at the Mexico GP.

The McLaren star – who secured second place in Mexico City – was involved in two incidents with the reigning Formula 1 champion. Verstappen was adjudged to have forced Norris off the track at Turn 4 as the latter attempted an overtake, earning him a 10-second penalty.

The Dutchman then received another punishment from the stewards at Turn 7. Norris had rejoined the circuit after taking to the grass ahead of eventual winner Carlos Sainz.

He handed the position back, only to be forced off of the track once again by Verstappen. And both Norris and Leclerc had telling reactions to the incidents after the race.

Norris let out a wry smile and a quiet chuckle to himself when watching the footage and then looked at the Ferrari driver, with both staying silent. It was a marked difference from the former’s reaction mid-race.

After the incidents Norris criticized the style of driving of Verstappen directly. He said: “This guy is dangerous. It’s just the same as last time I tell you, mate. I will be in a wall in a minute.

However, Norris also said that the Dutchman had earned his two penalties in his post-race interview. As quoted by RacingNews365, he said: “So even I did all that has been said to be the norms, the rules and all that, it wasn’t my day.” And, of course, he got some penalties for that.

Many times there were expect to have a very tough fight with Max going into every race. Anyway, it’s not a problem for him to be a winner or the second, his only task – to defeat me in this race. And he’ll die to make that happen, which he has done [in Mexico] kind of, sort of.

“But it is good to have a good scramble with him.” I want to have those tough battles like I’ve seen him have plenty of times. But fair ones

It’s always going to be on the line. And that is always going to be difficult with Max. He is only going to make someone’s life difficult, if not my own, at this point in the year. It’s not clean racing, so I believe he reaped what he had sown or deserved it most of the time.

Verstappen, on the other hand, had some unique when he is informed with his penalties. He initially said: “It is okay then,” said – “That is so stupid man.”

Such dramatic happening make the cours-months’Drivers’Championship very interesting as the teams prepare for the Brazil GP this weekend. This puts Verstappen at the top of the table on 362 points while Norris follows him with 315 points.
