LIV Golf star Bubba Watson has been named as an on-course reporter for the next edition of The Match.
The two-time Masters champion was today unveiled as part of the latest broadcast team for The Match: Superstars, set to take to place at Breakers West Country Club in West Palm Beach.
The event will be a two-day competition taking place on Thursday 21 November and Friday 22 November.
Eight celebrities will be involved in The Match, comprising Charles Barkley, Bill Murray, Mark Wahlberg, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Phelps, Nate Bargatze, Ken Griffey Jr and Blake Griffin.
The Match: Superstars will be broadcast on TNT Sports and also available to stream on HBO Max.
Watson, 45, will be working alongside host Ernie Johnson and another on-course reporter in Kathryn Tappen.
Fellow former Masters champion Trevor Immelman will also be calling the action in the booth.
It’s understood Barkley will also be calling some of the action in between playing the event.
Tappen and Watson will be doing regular walk-and-talks with the players.
Watson endured a tough season on LIV Golf in 2024.
So much so the RangeGoats GC captain was relegated from the circuit.
There are now serious talks with those at LIV Golf above him as to whether the left-hander will want to stick around for a fourth consecutive season in 2025 or not.
As has been understood Watson wants to go on and play for the LIV Golf League.
The Match: Superstars will start at the quarterfinal level with the format of two versus two scramble match play.
The wining team will then move to the latter stages of the Semi final and Final.
The last will be played in a manner of a match that is played by an individual.
Scramble teams for The Match: Superstars:
Cowboys’ Bill Murray and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky against Basketball legend Charles Barkley and baseball hero Ken Griffey Jr.
Many people have speculated about a match up like Mark Wahlberg and Micheal Phelps against Nate Bargatze and Blake Griffin.
The latest edition of the Match will occur almost a month prior to LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka face PGA Tour pair Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy in the Showdown at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.
TNT Sports will also be doing the coverage of that one.
