Which new talents have signed up in the 2025 LIV Golf season? Just few weeks ago Riyadh Golf Club was playing host to the LIV Golf Promotion event which 94 best lower league players showcased their talents to clinch a contract with Greg Norman.
The event was a bevy of exciting moments on the strokeplay and some nerve-provoking encounters at various frames of the competition. At the end of the 4 rounds, Lee Chieh-po won the competition to qualify for the 2025 season. The Chinese Taipei player is also commonly known as Max Lee, who emerged the winner on the last day of the event after winning by a two-stroke margin.
But, two more stars have booked their lineup for the 2025 season getting themselves LIV Golf contracts signed by two teams of the Saudi-back league. Okay let’s gain more information about all the 3 players.
The LIV Golf Promotions event was an intense battle among some of the best on the Asian Tours, Korn Ferry Tour, & other qualifying brackets. The 3-day event featured 2 rounds of 18 holes each. Both rounds were dominated by Max Lee as he won them with a 2-stroke difference in each. While the battles were intense, there was no doubt that Lee was the superior player in both of them as he won a guaranteed LIV Golf contract by one of the teams for the 2025 season. Considering the way he qualified for the contract, fans will be expecting him to have a major impact in the 2025 season.
Before his Promotions event performance, Lee had come off a win in the International Series of the Asian Tour as well. The 30-year-old had won the International Series Thailand event where he scored birdies in the last two holes to beat current LIV Golf player, Peter Uihlein. With Bubba Watson & the RangeGoats GC looking to find a replacement for Thomas Pieters, it will be interesting to see if fellow Uihlein recommends Max Lee.
Frederik Kjettrup
Frederik Kjettrup only turned pro in 2024 after finishing 8th in the PGA Tour University rankings. His performance also earned him a conditional exemption in the Korn Ferry Tour. Moreover, he also had complete access to all the events in the PGA TOUR Americas. In his limited time on the Tours, Kjettrup managed to play 9 events & win 3 titles in the process. The Danish driver also made an appearance at the 2024 U.S. Open where he didn’t make the cut after a +6 score in the first couple of rounds. The guy had everything in his arsenal to attract interest from LIV Golf teams. So it didn’t come as a surprise when Cleeks GC came looking for him.
The squad led by Martin Kaymer features Richard Bland and Adrian Meronk. Last season, the team also included Kalle Samooja, who was out of form for most of the year. Hence, he received a demotion from LIV Golf. A few days ago, Cleeks GC confirmed that Frederik Kjettrup is set to replace Samooja in 2025.
Yubin Jang.
This was, of course, the case with the No. 1 player in the 2024 season of the Korean Tour, Yubin Jang who could not help but attract plenty of interest from the suitors. He clinched two titles and other outstanding display during the season to accumulate as many points as possible on Tour. This made him be the Player of the Year ,and receive the 2024 Order of merit on the Korean Tour. I was also able to achieve the KPGA Money Leader and Genesis Points Champion at the end of 2024 along side it.
The Iron Heads were also looking like Cleek GC to recruit a player for a vacancy left behind by another player. South African pro; Scott Vincent didn’t have such a great year in LIV Golf. This made him be demoted from the league and to leave Iron Heads GC. Captain, replacement was easier for Kevin Na as he signed Yubin Jang as it was affirmed by the LIV Golf website on December 10, 2024.
Members of the public would be fascinated to see what these 3 players bring to LIV Golf. Looking at the team members it will be good to see whether they will continue playing well in the big leagues and dismiss any detractors. For now, we expect that they are planning on what is yet to come next in front on them.
LIV Golf Season 2025 will start on February 6, 2025, at the Riyadh Golf Club. It will be the first LIV Golf season without Greg Norman who led the company when it started. The fans will be anxious to know what next for the promotion that PIF has boosted with its money.
