Tyrrell Hatton’s X-rated defence of Jon Rahm’s after LIV star tipped for PGA Tour comeback..

A report last year claimed that former world No. 1 Jon Rahm wanted to make a return to the PGA Tour, but his LIV Golf teammate Tyrrell Hatton has shut down the rumours.

TTyrrell Hatton has rubbished the report that his LIV Golf teammate Jon Rahm regrets his move and wants to make a return to the PGA Tour, labelling the rumour ‘bulls***’.

Hatton followed in the footsteps of Rahm just over 11 months ago, giving up his playing rights on the PGA Tour to join the LIV setup and Legion XIII. The Englishman’s move came just weeks after Rahm became arguably the breakaway league’s biggest signing, signing a deal worth a reported £450 million.

There had been hopes among many in professional golf that the move of Rahm to the Saudi-backed league would help accelerate talks over a peace deal between the PGA Tour and LIV bosses.

Over a year on from his switch though, an agreement is yet to be signed off, with negotiations continuing. Amid the lack of progress, a report from Golf Digest last August revealed that an unnamed pro had claimed that Rahm regretted his decision to join LIV.

They commented: “I am 100 percent positive that if Jon could give the money back to the Saudis and come back to the tour, he couldn’t write the check fast enough.” One man who knows Rahm better than most is his teammate Hatton, and the former PGA Tour star was quick to play down any truth behind the comments.

He’s really enjoyed it and he has certainly played some pretty good golf.” According to Hatton, Rahm started his life out on the break away circuit and had a successful year winning two tournaments in UK and Chicago before dominating the league to be named the individual champion for 2024.

similar to him to what he hinted at wanting to get back to pga tour, rahm also dismissed the claims. “All of that has no credibility in what any of them said. I don’t know where it came from,” Rahm said the New York Post at that time. Why do they still feel the need to propagate that some of us are unhappy when in fact we are not?

“It’s that she can say there is a source and there is nothing there.” However, Rahm’s title defense will start early next year in February with the LIV 2025 season kicking off in Riyadh. Prior to that though, the Spanish star will focus on the DP World Tour having said he will participate in next’s Dubai Desert Classic alongside other top players such as Hatton, McIlroy, and Fleetwood.
