Fans online showered praise on Hideki Matsuyama’s record-breaking performance at Kapalua. However, several fans seemed concerned about such low scores on the PGA Tour.

Here’s a look at some reactions:

“Holy c**p,” one fan wrote.

What in God’s green earth. Yes pun intended. Congratulations 🎊 Hideki,” this fan commented.

“This tournament is always a birdie fest. It’s a reward for the best players from 2023. So what? We love seeing the great weather and scenery in Hawaii,” one user opined.

“Here’s why golf is getting so boring – game is too big for most the courses played now. This is approaching Texas Scramble numbers. 👎🏻,” another user remarked.

“Absolutely nothing against Matsuyama, I think the guy is great. But someone throwing up a -35 tells me that the course is to easy for a professional. PGA needs to make these courses harder, these guys are Pros,” one fan wrote.
