Influencer with 3M followers on YouTube following in Bryson DeChambeau’s footsteps after betraying PGA to launch career in LIV

Shiels’ X account has PGA in the title, but he’s shunning the Tour for LIV Golf. This season, he’s signed an influencer deal for his content to focus on the tour and its players.

Flushing It Golf wrote on X:

The rise of YouTube golf has been dramatic over the last few years with content creators gaining more and more popularity and influence.”

Shiels finally acknowledged what many suspected about his career transition by confirming the move after months of teasing it. The announcement brought many teasers but his new content remained muted. The upcoming LIV Golf partnership caused the decrease in content promotional activities.

Twitch subscribers rank DeChambeau’s YouTube page one of the most popular in the golf world. The massive following on his YouTube channel surpasses the official PGA Tour page count and counts at nearly two million subscribers. Shiels’ involvement means LIV Golf can reach almost five million subscribers for exclusive content in 2025.
