LIV Golf will finally return to action at their 2025 season opener in Riyadh later this week, and the breakaway league has welcomed in six new players for upcoming campaign.
After almost five months away LIV Golf makes a reutrn this week, and six new names added to the roster over the offseason will take to the course in this week’s opener in Saudi Arabia.
LIV’s maiden event of 2025 will take place at Riyadh Golf Club, with the likes of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka all returning to action. They will do so alongside some fresh faces though, with the breakaway circuit adding to their player list over recent months.
The relegation of five players led to some former players in Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent and Scott Vincent losing their places, giving stars from elsewhere the chance to forge a career on the LIV setup.
The latest signing on the eve of the season saw 2024 champion Rahm complete his team, by bringing in Tom McKibbin. Northern Irishman McKibbin is one of European golf’s rising stars, and turned down a maiden full season on the PGA Tour last month to make the Saudi switch.
Welcoming his new signing, Rahm said: “Tom is used to traveling the world, which I think is a big key. One of the reasons why maybe Caleb had not a good year last year compared to his standards was the fact that he had to travel so much, and he wasn’t used to it.
“Tom is definitely used to it. The DP World Tour, they definitely are able to travel a lot. So, having a young incredible talent with a bright future that’s used to the travel is something very, very special. On paper, we could be even stronger this year than we were last year.
And I think coming into the Team Championship, we’re definitely going to be stronger than we were last year.” Legion XIII are not the only team adding a fresh face to their squad, with Bubba Watson and the RangeGoats bringing in Ben Campbell, who impressed on the Asian Tour last year.
Ben Campbell has joined LIV.

The Cleeks GC added a new recruiting choice to their team when the organization transferred Kalle Samooja into the cohort of former Promotions champions who received their termination in last September.
The European theme led Martin Kaymer to recruit Danish professional Frederik Kjettrup for his team.
