PGA Tour star Jason Day forced out of The Players Championship

Jason Day has been forced to withdraw from this week’s flagship PGA Tour event of the season at The Players Championship.

Day, 37, confirmed his absence from the PGA Tour’s flagship event of the season at famed TPC Sawgrass just before the opening day’s play on Thursday.

The former World No.1 has been replaced in The Players Championship field by Danny Walker.

The WD is a bitter blow for Day, who had been playing nicely on the eve of the tournament with a T8 at last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
