Four F1 drivers ‘facing stewards’ investigation’ immediately after Chinese Grand Prix

Four Formula 1 stars are reportedly set to be summoned to the stewards after the conclusion of the Chinese Grand Prix.

On Sunday, all eyes were fixated on the Shanghai International Circuit as the second race of the 2025 season took place.

McLaren star Oscar Piastri converted his first-ever pole position into a race win, effectively leading from start to finish.

The Australian came home ahead of teammate Lando Norris and Mercedes star George Russell to score maximum points.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton, who won the Sprint on Saturday, finished in sixth place after trying a two-stop strategy that ultimately did not work.

Prior to the start of the Grand Prix, it was claimed that four drivers were facing a visit to the stewards.

The four racecar drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto from Stake F1 together with Alexander Albon of Williams and Yuki Tsunoda of Racing Bulls were penalized by Racing News 365 for disobeying race director Rui Marques’ instructions particularly regarding practice start procedures.

The pre-event notes from Rui Marques state that practice starts need to occur solely on the right-hand side of the pit exit asphalt before the pit wall’s final limits ‘with no doubt regarding this rule’s application during pit entrance operation times.’

Based on current information the four drivers need to account for allegedly breaking the rule regarding following race director Rui Marques’ instructions.

Albon finished ninth place throughout his positive racing year. During Round 1 of the season Bortoleto and Hulkenberg secured finishes at position 17 and 18 for Stake F1.

Tsunoda completed a challenging race which left him now in the bottom position (19th) during the contest.

Two weeks are left before the start of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit on April 6.
