MONEY MAKER John Daly makes $780,000-plus a year from Masters – without even playing Augusta National course.
Daly is earning more than some of the golfers actually competing in the tournament.
Even though he’s not participating at Augusta National, he shows up in town each year, just a mile from the course.
He sets up shop at the Augusta Hooters, not far from where Rory McIlroy claimed his green jacket on Sunday.
The 58-year-old isn’t as concerned with green jackets as he is green dollars though, and watched his golf brand’s merch fly off the shelves during the weekend.
Last year, Daly’s team told ESPN that he made $780,000 selling hats, autographed golf balls, cigars, and other items.
He sells hats for $40, balls for $10, and boxes of cigars for $250.
His team estimated before The Masters that he could surpass the $780,000 figure from last year.
“Eat some good food, smoke, sell some s–t,” Daly told ESPN.

Daly was always the bad boy of golf, introducing himself to the sport with a 1991 PGA Championship win.
He enjoyed smoking cigarettes, drinking beer, and sporting his iconic mullet on the golf course.
Daly’s personality stands in stark contrast to the refined image associated with Augusta National, yet fans have always been drawn to his distinctive charm.
“John Daly’s my hero,” a local from Augusta shared with ESPN.
Despite ongoing health challenges—battling bladder cancer in 2020 and undergoing 16 surgeries for various conditions—Daly continues to be revered in the golf world.
“I’ve got more metal in me than the bionic man, Lee Majors,” he joked.
“But I’m still here. I’m like Lazarus—I just keep rising from the dead.”
Although Daly is no longer active on the PGA Tour, fans may soon see a familiar name on the course—his son, John Daly II.
Now 21, the younger Daly is chasing his dad’s golfing legacy as a member of the University of Arkansas golf team. He even mirrored his father’s fondness for Hooters by signing an NIL deal with the chain.
While Daly knows he’ll never be a mainstay at Augusta, he’s perfectly content hanging out with everyday folks at his favorite hangout.
