How much could Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry win? The prize money for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans

This weekend, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry aim to retain their championship title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Last year, the Irish pair secured victory in the team event after defeating Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer in a playoff, setting off lively celebrations.
Now, twelve months later, they enter the final round with an opportunity to make history as the first team to successfully defend their title. So far, McIlroy and Lowry have posted scores of 64, 69, and 61, putting them at 22-under-par—five strokes behind leaders Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin.
The final round will feature foursomes format, with players taking alternate shots. Beyond the prestige of victory, a significant prize is at stake—the winning duo will each take home $1,329,400. A triumph would also strengthen McIlroy’s position atop the FedEx Cup standings, adding to his impressive season.
After claiming victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and the Players Championship in March, McIlroy recently completed the career grand slam by winning the Masters two weeks ago.
