Report; PGA Tour fans fuming as ‘technical difficulties’ prevent live coverage of Zurich Classic.

PGA Tour fans left disappointed as power issue prevents live coverage of the early stages of the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

PGA Tour fans were prevented from watching live coverage of the early stages of the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, all as a result of ‘technical difficulties’ at Golf Channel.

Fans were able to watch the final group of Andrew Novak & Ben Griffin and Jake Knapp & Frankie Capan III play the first two holes.

Then a “huge power issue” hit by the time they reached the green at the par-3 3rd.

Defending champions Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry had played four holes before Golf Channel experienced their power outage.

McIlroy & Lowry are looking to become the first team to successfully defend the title.

Technical difficulties lasted a full hour from 1.10pm to 2.10pm local time.

By that time only limited pictures could be drip fed into the final round broadcast.
Full live coverage still hasn’t yet returned at the time of publication.

It should be back soon, at least that is what commentators keep telling us.

Hold tight, folks…
Frustrated PGA Tour fans took to social media to voice their anger over technical issues disrupting the Zurich Classic of New Orleans broadcast.

One fan fumed, “An absolute disgrace—so much money in the PGA Tour in 2025 and they can’t even afford basic power.”

Another sarcastically added, “Guess I’m off to watch LIV Golf Mexico instead,” while a third simply asked, “Are you kidding me?”

“Utter joke,” another viewer remarked bluntly.

Sky Sports Golf presenters in the UK were left apologizing repeatedly for the power outage impacting Golf Channel’s coverage. In the meantime, Sky switched briefly to the final round of The Chevron Championship, the first women’s major of the year.

Golf Channel, on its part, aired bonus coverage of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic from the PGA Tour Champions.

After about an hour, power was restored and fans were able to catch Rory McIlroy and others back in action—though full live coverage was still pending.

Once the feed resumed, a commentator addressed the audience, saying, “We’re gradually getting cameras back online. A major power failure at TPC Louisiana knocked everything out. We’ll restore visuals and audio bit by bit.”
