Golf legend Sir Nick Faldo and wife issue statement: ‘It’s not healthy for anyone…’

Former Barclays American golf champion 6 x major champion Sir Nick Faldo and wife Lindsay Lady Faldo give statement.

Golf legend Sir Nick Faldo and wife Lindsay Lady Faldo are both personally to boycott X /Twitter and are planning to deactivate their accounts by the end of the week.

The Faldos released a statement to say that while they will be closing their own account they will continue to operate the Faldo Brands – Faldo Design, Faldo Farm and Faldo Series on X.

While praising Elon Musk as ‘bright’, Faldo and his wife have decided to leave his social media since they ‘see the increase in the amount of posts containing aggressive images and videos, provocative calls for violence proliferate and disturbing happy videos sharing, as unhealthy or not interesting’.

They also explained X’s announcement to ‘make all posts available to all readers, including those who follow and do not follow accounts and those who have been blocked for cause has deepened our decision’.

Faldo, 67, is England’s greatest golfer of all time with six major titles to his name.

He got married for the fourth time, to wife Lindsay, in 2020.

Sir Nick is Lindsay’s seventh husband.

Lindsay De Marco, 61, is a former topless dancer who is an ardent Republican supporter and die-hard MAGA fan.

During Donald Trump’s speech in Montana in August, ’45’ labelled Faldo as a ‘major friend of mine’ and Lindsay as ‘his beautiful wife’.

Trump then floated the idea that Faldo could come and join his government should he get re-elected later in three months’ time.

Faldo quickly hit back on social media.

But earlier today, Sir Nick and wife Lindsay confimed they are leaving X for good.

They will remain, however, active on LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.

Here’s the full statement from the Faldos:

Dear Friends and Followers,

We have used this platform for many years and have accounts in what is now known as ‘X’ we personally also have accounts in this and shall be deleting all our personal accounts on it by the end of the week. While we enjoyed the free speech platform that the genius Elon Musk has provided and nurtured, the flood of posts with excessive adult content, showing graphic violence, provocative video and cruel language is uninteresting to us or anyone to encounter.

This has compounded our decision after X stating he will make all posts reachable to all users including those subscribed and those unsubscribed and even those blocked for violation of protocol.

In the next year, we will persistently be active on our LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram accounts where public and private messages can indeed be offered on request.

Please understand that the Faldo Brands will still be on X, and we invite you to connect with Faldo Design, Faldo Farm and the Faldo Series, the non profit, 501c3, 30 years plus junior golf program that is the oldest and most extensive in the world with over 50 competitions in 30 countries and increasing.

Stay tuned! This page will be back very shortly indeed, pointing a bright, shiny light on the Faldo Brands and what they do. Like to get more from Sir Nick and Lindz you can find them on their Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts. Thank you for the interesting and insightful article from all of us at Faldo.
