Dustin Johnson has been banned from the PGA Tour since joining the breakaway LIV Golf league in 2022, and a peace deal is expected to be agreed upon in the coming years.

The skipper of 4Aces copied Phil Mickelson, when opting for LIV in 2022, and, in fact, as everyone can see, he has not looked Johnson, making a stunning debut Season, became a two-time winner of the LIV in both the individual crown and Team Championship.
That being said, there was a consequence to his decision to make the move and that is that he was given a ‘ban’ by PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan. The idea of this suspension being over however could soon be round the corner.
The discussion of LIV players being able to return to the Tour has split opinion among those who opted to remain. The latest to have their say has been Wyndham Clark, and whilst he believes not all members of the breakaway league should be offered a route back, a select few – including Johnson – should be reinstated into the membership.
“I think it depends on who it is,” Clark told the No Laying Up Podcast when weighing in on the possible unification. “I think guys that have had the career where they should be lifelong PGA Tour players, I think they deserve the right to come play the PGA Tour.
“If Dustin Johnson wants to come back and Phil Mickelson and guys that have won, Brooks [Koepka], who have won majors and are most likely hall of famers. They deserve to play wherever the hell they want, because they’re so good.”
Even though, Clark has extended an olive branch, it is still unclear if Johnson would even accept an invite back, let alone take the offered position having stated his position on the back of the first merger announcement. During the time when the announcement of executing a framework agreement was made last June, several LIV stars rated themselves with regard to the possibility of a comeback.
Regarding Johnson he seemed content with how things are in the Saudi backed touring scheme. He stated at LIV Andalucia in June of 2023, “I’m excited for the future.” I believe that with this agreement the only thing that will change is that LIV will become even more as it is now very effective.
“I am happy with my situation as it is now and I am not interested in playing golf more than I do now, that is for sure.” A similar sentiment was shared by Brooks Koepka, who also said at the time: Overall, I have been quite content for being here in LIV, it has been fun. I would not like to speak on behalf of everybody else but I personally and I think everybody is pretty excited and everyone is pretty happy where they are at the moment.”
