Reports indicate that Tiger Woods is still facing challenges in his golf career due to injuries, as he is not participating in a tournament he typically hosts.
Woods was scheduled to take part in the Hero World Challenge in December, at the upscale Albany resort located on the New Providence island in The Bahamas. The event is held in the woods, with proceeds going to the Tiger Woods Foundation. Woods has secured victory five times in the past, in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2011, also coming in second place five times.
This year, he will be a spectator as the list of participants was revealed on Tuesday. There was space available for elite professionals such as Scottie Scheffler, who was the reigning champion, along with Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, and Hideki Matsuyama.
Three tournament exemptions are available and Woods could potentially receive one of them.
Regarded as one of the best golfers in history, Woods made an epic comeback in 2019 by winning The Masters Tournament, ending an 11-year dry spell without a major championship win. His professional life has been marked by incredible achievements, as well as constant problems with injuries in his wrist, knees, ankles, and legs. The Mirror stated on Tuesday that it was clear Tiger Woods is dealing with injury problems.
Tiger Woods may be facing issues that can be traced back to his sixth back surgery in September, which took place just a month ago.
He also made a declaration about it on X, the social networking platform previously called Twitter.
The statement started by saying that Tiger had microdecompression surgery on his lumbar spine to address nerve impingement in his lower back. Dr Sheeraz Quereshi from Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach carried out the operation and confirmed it was a success.
