LIV Golf pro Anthony Kim has taken to X / Twitter to reveal a Golf Channel analyst told him earlier this season that “their higher ups tell them what their opinion needs to be” during live broadcasts.
Kim, 39, made his shock claim after Flushing It posted high praise of LIV Golf League analyst Jerry Foltz.
Flushing It lauded the work of Foltz, who previously worked many years for Golf Channel on the PGA Tour prior to joining LIV Golf in 2022.
Foltz, 62, turned pro in 1996 and although he never won on the PGA Tour he did win once on the lower-tier Nike Tour, which is now the Korn Ferry Tour.
Flushing It wanted to give Foltz a shout out for his good work on LIV Golf, especially this season where he has not only worked as an analyst but also on-course commentator during the Saudi International on the Asian Tour’s International Series.
Earlier this week Foltz also called the action at the LIV Promotions event won by Lee Chieh-po.
Flushing It tweeted.
Quick shoutout to Jerry Foltz btw. He’s been an analyst on the LIV broadcast all year, then was on course reporting last week at the Saudi International, and now he’s calling the play by play at LIV Promotions. How’s that for versatility!”
Then in came Kim, who not only agreed but also dropped a bombshell about what really goes down at Golf Channel during live broadcasts.
Kim, who joined LIV Golf for the first time in 2024 after years out of the sport, replied:
Jerry is knowledgeable, fair & a good person there R a few talented broadcasters in golf both @livgolf_league @PGATOUR but most say wat they r told 2. I’ve spoken 2 an analyst @GolfChannel this year that said their higher ups tell them what their opinion needs to B. #MAGA
Kim had been a wildcard in 2024 but sources show that Kim will rejoin LIV Golf and be in a team in the coming 2025.
An official decision on Kim’s LIV Golf future should be made before end of the month.
‘I think he doesn’t know what is going on’, one reporter said to others when asking about Kim’s next move.
