The Ferrari star finished fourth in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Lewis Hamilton has made a massive demand of Ferrari to help him rescue his season after a disappointing British Grand Prix.
In what was undoubtedly the most chaotic race of the 2025 Formula One season, McLaren star Lando Norris claimed victory in his home British Grand Prix, ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri.
Despite starting the race in 19th, Kick Sauber driver Nico Hulkenberg amazingly managed to finish the race in third, breaking his long-standing record as the F1 driver with most races without a podium finish.
Meanwhile, British star Hamilton, who finished the race in fourth, set his own record in the race, but it’s not one that he will be particularly proud of.
And off the back of the Grand Prix, Hamilton has told Ferrari exactly what needs to help him turn around what has so far been a disappointing season.
Going into the British Grand Prix, expectations for Hamilton were at the highest they have been all season, given the Ferrari driver’s recent form in his home race.
Since 2014, Hamilton has managed to finish on the podium of every single British Grand Prix, with his most recent prior to this year being his spectacular win in the 2024 race.
But this all came to an end this year, as Hamilton finishing in fourth ended his hot-streak and set a new career record of 14 grands prix without a podium, the worst run in the Brit’s career.
Although he won the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race earlier this season, the last time that Hamilton finished in the top three of a main race was his second-place finish in the 2024 Las Vegas GP for Mercedes.
But Hamilton has identified exactly what he need to be able to turn his season around, and he wasn’t shy to let Ferrari know.
“I just need a consistent balance,” Hamilton told RacingNews365 after the British Grand Prix.
“When the car turns into low-speed, I just need a more stable car, but we were looking great through this weekend.
“In practice, we were always up there, but were not fully able to extract everything in qualifying, and then the race is a bit harder, so that is where I wanted to get stronger.

“It got a little easier when it was fully dry, as we had more grip, but even then, you saw I went wide and it snapped and I nearly spun at Turn 11 (Becketts) many times, so there were a lot of mistakes.”
Hamilton’s plea for a more consistent balance has now reportedly prompted urgent internal talks at Ferrari, as the team scrambles to address the seven-time world champion’s concerns ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. According to sources close to the Maranello outfit, engineers have already begun analyzing Hamilton’s telemetry data from Silverstone to better understand the unpredictable handling issues he faced during low-speed corners. While the Ferrari SF-25 has shown promising pace in high-speed sections and dry conditions, its inconsistency through technical corners has repeatedly cost Hamilton critical race positions—something he believes could be remedied with a refined suspension setup and improved traction mapping.
Team principal Fred Vasseur has since acknowledged Hamilton’s feedback as “crucial and timely,” hinting at the possibility of mid-season upgrades aimed specifically at stabilizing the car’s rear during low-speed turns. “Lewis knows exactly what he wants from the car,” Vasseur told reporters in Maranello. “We’ve seen the pace is there; now it’s about giving him the confidence to push through the full race distance without second-guessing the grip.” With Ferrari still within striking distance of McLaren and Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship, Hamilton’s demands may not just be about personal redemption—they could also be the spark Ferrari needs to reignite their title ambitions.
