Anthony Kim delivered one of the most emotional press conferences of the year

Anthony Kim produced one of the most heartfelt moments of the season after firing a flawless 10-under 62 at LIV Golf Virginia. The performance earned him a T6 finish and pushed him back inside the top 200 of the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time since 2012.

Kim made it clear he’s focused only on his own journey.

“I don’t care what people say about me. I put in the work, spend time with my family, and keep trying to improve every day. I’ll just keep grinding and see where it takes me.”

When the conversation turned to whether the current version of Kim could compete with the player he was in 2010, his answer drew plenty of attention.

“The 2010 version of me might not even have shown up. I’ll take this version instead.”

Kim also spoke emotionally about the encouragement he has received throughout his comeback, especially from people dealing with struggles of their own.

“The support has been incredible, not just from golf fans but from people outside the sport who are fighting their own battles. It’s meant a lot to me.”

His big week ended in dramatic fashion as he helped 4 Aces GC capture the team title. Dustin Johnson trusted Kim in the playoff, and he delivered with a huge recovery shot from the wet rough before sinking the winning putt.

No matter what happens with LIV Golf moving forward, Anthony Kim’s return to professional golf is quickly becoming one of the sport’s most inspiring comeback stories.
