Bryson DeChambeau has suggested a possible path for LIV Golf players to major championships after being denied world ranking points.
The Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) recently announced that LIV Golf’s scoring application had been rejected.
The regulator has raised questions about the competitive integrity of the Saudi separatist federation, especially the holding of “closed seminars” without qualifying criteria.
This casts doubt on the future of LIV Golf players across the four major championships, with some of the top golfers now even further down the OWGR list.
The Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and Open all use OWGR as the primary judging method for their events. Other ways to gain access include earning previous majors:

Notable LIV golfers Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Cam Smith and Dechambeau are also exempt in the near term, but the non-major winners are now facing a serious crisis.
However, organizers of professional tournaments can change their qualifying criteria at any time – and DeChambeau had an idea.
“I think at this point, when they don’t allow it, we want to find another way to fit into the major championship system because I think we have some of the best players in the world,” DeChambeau said from the LIV Golf Event in Saudi Arabia this week.
“I think the top 12 on the year-end money list or on the year-end points list will be a given as the major championships host the best players in the world at these four tournaments. annual event.”
R&A director Martin Slumbers, in charge of The Open, admits it is a possibility. Responding to DeChambeau’s comments, he said:
“I think that’s one of the options we have.
“It’s not at the top of my list at the moment, but it would be one of the options available.”
