New Guinness World Record set for fastest 9-hole round of golf
Luke Willett, recognized as the world’s fastest golfer, achieved the remarkable feat at Jumeirah Golf Estates, setting a Guinness World Record New world for fastest 9-hole round of golf by an individual.
The record-breaking performance took place on the Fire Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, just before the $10 million DP World Tour Championship begins on Thursday.
Willett, a 39-year-old PGA professional from Buckinghamshire, used only a 3-wood, a 6-iron and a pitching wedge to race to an official time of 20 minutes and 12 seconds.
“I’m really excited to set the Guinness World Record for the fastest nine-hole round of golf,” an exhausted Willett said after the 2,709-yard nine-hole challenge.
“It is an amazing feeling to push the boundaries of what is possible in this sport and I am very grateful for the opportunity provided by DP World.
The challenge is presented by DP World, the world leader in smart logistics and title partner of DP World DP World Tour and DP World Tour Championship.
