Daniel Ricciardo was left bemused with Red Bull driver Sergio Perez after his secret Santa gift arrived late.
Formula 1 has continued its end-of-year tradition by sharing a video on their official YouTube channel, showcasing the drivers exchanging gifts.
While some gifts were thoughtful and accompanied by heartwarming messages, Charles Leclerc took a humorous approach by gifting Zhou Guanyu a nude calendar featuring Valtteri Bottas, his Alfa Romeo teammate.
However, one driver, Ricciardo, expressed his disappointment when his gift arrived late, considering the video was filmed during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.
“It came late,” he complained, adding that he had some concerns about the person responsible for selecting it.
Nevertheless, Ricciardo’s mood brightened when he discovered that Perez had gifted him a limited edition bottle of his own brand tequila.
“Thank you Checo,” he expressed his gratitude, mentioning his fondness for tequila.
As for Ricciardo’s secret Santa gift, he chose an Australian-themed present for fellow Australian Oscar Piastri, opting for a koala t-shirt and some chocolate, staying true to the Aussie spirit.
