TOUR PRO MOCKED AFTER BEING DUPED BY JUSTIN THOMAS ‘DIG’ AT PATRICK REED

DP World Tour pro Pablo Larrazabal appeared to take the bait after a parody account claimed Justin Thomas took a cheap shot at Patrick Reed.

DP World Tour pro Pablo Larrazabal was urged to take a break from social media after appearing to take the bait from a parody account on X.

@PGATuor threw up a post on Thursday claiming Justin Thomas took a cheap shot at Patrick Reed amid the news Poland’s Adrian Meronk has reportedly agreed to join LIV Golf.

Meronk called in sick before the Farmers Insurance Open and despite his manager telling Telegraph Sport the golfer really is ill, it appears he will become LIV Golf’s latest signing.

According to reports, it is said that Tyrrell Hatton is close to joining the rival league. The agreement is apparently delayed because he has contractual obligations to Rory McIlroy and TGL.

Remarkably, injury-ridden Anthony Kim is also being linked with a sensational return to the sport after a 12-year absence.

Wrote the parody account: “Justin Thomas commented on Adrian Meronk’s departure from the PGA saying: ‘The PGA losing Adrian is like Patrick Reed losing 10 pounds. It’s not really making a difference.'”

And Larrazabal, the World No. 94, responded: “If he really said that, he never player with Adrian, one of the best ball strikers in the world of golf at the moment… he got lucky he didn’t play Ryder Cup, the difference would be bigger.”

Predictably, golf fans promptly seized upon his post, reminding him that Thomas never made such a statement. A user of platform X expressed their opinion, stating that once you begin to quote tweet a parody account, it is advised to remove the application from your mobile device. Someone else commented, saying, “Pablo, my friend, I admire your golf skills, but you could use some guidance on Twitter. This account is meant to be a humorous imitation.” Another added: “Pablo, mate, I love your golf, but you need a Twitter lesson. This is a parody account.”
