TOUCH DOWN FEW MINUTES AGO: It happens just few minutes ago, BYU Football QB Bear Bachmeier Has Just Transfer for … See More

In a stunning development that has sent shockwaves through the college football community, reports are circulating that BYU Football quarterback Bear Bachmeier has been linked with a potential transfer away from the Cougars.

However, there is currently no verified announcement confirming that Bachmeier has entered the transfer portal or completed a move to another program. BYU’s official 2026 roster continues to list Bachmeier as a sophomore quarterback for the Cougars.

Bachmeier has quickly become an important figure in BYU’s football program. After transferring from Stanford to BYU in 2025, he won the starting quarterback competition and made a significant impact during his freshman campaign.

His performances have continued to attract attention in 2026. On September 14, BYU announced that Bachmeier had been named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 after completing 16 of 26 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns against Arizona, while also rushing for another touchdown.

That recent form makes any claim of an immediate transfer particularly significant. Fans will therefore be watching closely for an official announcement from BYU, Bachmeier, or the NCAA transfer portal before treating the rumor as confirmed.

For now, the headline remains unconfirmed, and supporters should be cautious about social-media posts claiming that the quarterback has already completed a new transfer.
