JOAQUIN NIEMANN TAKES FRESH SHOT AT OWGR AFTER ANOTHER $4M LIV GOLF PAYDAY

Joaquin Niemann claimed his third victory of 2024 in the LIV Golf League with a dominant display at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Saudi Arabia.

Joaquin Niemann playfully commented on his global ranking following another impressive win in the LIV Golf League.

Niemann from Chile achieved a dominant win at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The 26-year-old golfer scored a total of 17-under par after playing three rounds and won by a margin of four strokes over South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen.

Charl Schwartzel, Bryson DeChambeau, Adrian Meronk and Jon Rahm also finished inside the top-10.

As for Niemann, victory in the gulf state represented his second victory on the breakaway tour this season.

The golfer defeated Sergio Garcia in an epic playoff at LIV’s curtain raiser in Mayakoba, Mexico.

In the immediate aftermath of that victory he immediately complained about not being in the majors.

The comment drew a mixed reaction, given it appeared evident when Niemann joined LIV getting points might’ve proved troublesome.

The topic, in truth, has become exhausting and there appears to be no plans on the OWGR’s part to change their position.

Just this week OWGR chairman Peter Dawson reiterated to The Times of London there is no conspiracy against the rival league.

Niemann has since been invited to next month’s Masters, although that is owing to his victory at the Australian Open at the turn of the year.

That win Down Under also gave Niemann a spot in this year’s Open at Royal Troon in July.

Seconds after Niemann was doused in champagne in Jeddah, he was told by on-course reporter Dom Boulet he’s the most in-form player on the planet.

Boulet inquired Niemann if he believes he is now one of the top contenders to win a major championship this summer based on his current performance.

Nieman informed Boulet about his Official World Golf Ranking and asked him, “How could this be?”

Niemann stated that he is pleased with his current performance and intends to continue playing in the same manner. He expressed his satisfaction with his game and hopes to maintain his current form. I hope I can continue hitting the ball well. I am proud of my consistent performance in hitting throughout the week.

This week, Anthony Kim returned to the world of men’s professional golf. Kim is participating in the full season with the team LIV as one of the two wildcards.

The 38-year-old came in last place and candidly expressed his thoughts on his comeback.
