The Players Championship, the 50th edition of which is being held, is part of the PGA Tour’s Florida swing.
TPC Sawgrass, famous for its iconic 17th island green, will be the venue for the event from March 14-17.
The competition is commonly seen as the informal fifth major tournament. Scottie Scheffler, who is the current champion, comes to this event in strong form after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The American won a top prize of $3,600,000 when he was declared the champion a year ago.
The prize money for the 2024 Players Championship has been increased. In the current year, the total amount available for the winners is a staggering $25,000,000. The victor will receive the grand prize of $4,500,000.
