LIV Golf star Cam Smith takes hilarious tumble in Rae’s Creek during The Masters

Cam Smith humorously discusses his comedic moment during his practice round at The Masters, providing some entertainment for the spectators.

Cameron Smith did not want to slip and fall in Rae’s Creek, especially after recovering from food poisoning, but unfortunately that is exactly what happened during his practice round for The Masters on Tuesday.

Last week, Smith, who is 30 years old, had to pull out of LIV Golf Miami tournament after completing the first round.

Smith’s readiness for the first significant event of the season was somewhat hindered by spending the weekend in bed.

But the 150th Open champion is feeling much brighter this week and will definitely be teeing it up at The Masters alongside PGA Tour stars Viktor Hovland and Wyndham Clark for the opening two rounds at Augusta National.

Smith admitted to having a “bit more energy” on Tuesday and that he was able to “get around the course and feel okay”.

The Australian played alongside his compatriot and former Masters champion Adam Scott on Tuesday afternoon.

Cam Smith slips on Rae’s Creek

Smith’s only difficulty came when he had trouble maintaining his balance at the par-5 13th hole while attempting to navigate the rocks on Rae’s Creek.    Smith’s metal spikes lost their grip, causing the Australian golfer to fall into a well-known water hazard on the course.

Smith admitted that he did not attempt to jump, but instead tried to step on a few rocks.   He explained that he slipped due to metal objects in his right shoe.

“A touch of humor for the audience.”    Smith, who has achieved four top-10 finishes out of seven at The Masters, stated that his main concern while going down was to avoid getting wet.

Despite this, he managed to perform well.   He mentioned that he had to discard his glove and his shoes got slightly wet, but that was the extent of the inconvenience.
