LIV Golf chaos erupts as 4Aces publicly challenge rival team move ahead of Korea

Tension is beginning to build inside LIV Golf ahead of this week’s event in South Korea after Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces reportedly questioned Korean Golf Club’s controversial decision to move Danny Lee into a wildcard role. The unexpected roster change has quickly become one of the biggest talking points surrounding LIV Golf Korea and has reignited debate over how the league handles team selections and player movement.

Korean Golf Club recently confirmed that Danny Lee would step away from the main lineup for the remainder of the season, with KPGA star Doyeob Mun coming in as his replacement for at least the next two events. The move comes despite Lee being one of the more recognizable names on the roster and a former LIV Golf tournament winner.

According to reports, members connected to Johnson’s 4Aces are unhappy with the timing and nature of the decision, believing it raises questions about competitive balance and the consistency of LIV Golf’s roster rules. The issue has become even more sensitive because LIV’s team structure was originally designed to provide stability and identity, but frequent lineup adjustments and wildcard changes continue to blur the lines between permanent team members and temporary replacements.

Danny Lee has been a notable figure in LIV Golf since joining the league in 2023 after leaving the PGA Tour. The New Zealand-born golfer, who was born in South Korea, earned a memorable LIV victory in Tucson and became an important part of the former Iron Heads setup before the franchise transitioned into Korean Golf Club.

The controversy now adds another layer of intrigue heading into LIV Golf Korea, an event already under heavy attention as the league continues to push its international expansion strategy. With Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces openly challenging the situation, the debate over how LIV Golf manages its teams and player eligibility is unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
